Working on Country Photo exhibit

Photos by departmental and other employees involved in the Working on Country program or Indigenous Protected Areas

When: 29 June – 29 August

Eucalypso: textile exhibition

Mother and daughter exhibition by Joan and Jenny Hogben. Joan produces natural fibre basketry while Jenny, originally trained as a fashion designer, works with eucalypt dyes and natural pigments on silk and clothing.

When: Opens 11 am Wednesday 1 September with a free floor talk by Jenny Hogben
Opening times: 1 - 28 September | 9.00 am - 4.30 pm

Bush Magic: Story time in the Gardens

Flower Fairies - wear your best elfen or fairy costumes and join in the fun

When: Friday 3 September, 10 – 11 am

Breakfast with the Birds

An excellent opportunity to observe birds in beautiful surrounds followed by a sumptuous breakfast.
The early morning time is a great time to enjoy the Gardens, view bird activity, and a peak time for observing spring nesting activity.
Book early, as numbers are limited.

If you have a personal group of 10 or more, and the above times, or dates do not suit, please contact Louise (6281 6295) as it may be possible to negotiate an alternative time/date to those offered.

Wattle walks

Join our friendly guide for a walk around the beautiful Gardens, and learn the fascinating history of the wattle as our national floral emblem.  Wattles have a long and rich history with our heritage, and an array are flowering in the Gardens right now.  Beautiful and inspiring. 

When: Wednesday 1 September – Tuesday 7 September, 11am daily

Let our friendly guides show you the beauty and diversity of spring flowers in the Australian National Botanic Gardens.  Surround yourself with the scents and colours of some of our wonderful native flora.

Learn techniques to create a work of art with pencils and paint, using the Australian National Botanic Gardens as both an outdoor studio and a rich source of inspiration. No experience necessary.
